Job Summary:

The data analyst will be responsible for interpreting data, analysing results using statistical techniques, and providing ongoing reports. They will develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimise statistical efficiency and quality.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing reports.
  2. Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimise statistical efficiency and quality.
  3. Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
  4. Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  5. Filter and "clean" data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.
  6. Work closely with management to prioritise business and information needs.
  7. Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, or Statistics.
  2. Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst.
  3. 3 years experience
  4. Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
  5. Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects, etc.), databases (SQL, etc.), and programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks).
  6. Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, etc.).
  7. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  8. Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings.
